Who's watching
the watchers?

The internet was supposed to connect us. Somewhere along the way, it also became a place where our lives could be tracked, sorted, and sold.

We're SkullNet. We're here to ask questions about who holds power over our data, what they do with it, and who's keeping an eye on them.

01 // Why we're here

It's bigger than privacy.

Privacy is part of it. So are free expression, access to information, the right to question authority, and the right to know when systems are being used against the people they're supposed to serve.

We use the word hacktivism in its original spirit: using technology, research, creativity, and public information to challenge abuses of power. That means exposing problems, explaining how systems work, and helping people hold institutions accountable.

No blind trust. No manufactured panic. We get out there and do something about it

03 // The proclamation

Power shouldn't get a free pass.

We think people deserve to know what information is collected about them, who can access it, how long it's kept, and what happens when it's misused.

We think public institutions should be transparent. We think powerful organizations should answer difficult questions. We think technology should serve people, not make them powerless.

We're not asking anyone to take our word for it. Read the documents. Check the claims. Make up your own mind. Then decide what needs to change.

04 // Research files

Look closer.

Automated license plate readers

Cameras can record plate numbers, times, and locations. The important questions are how that data is stored, who can search it, when it's shared, and what rules govern its use.
